Credit Controller

Location: Mirfield, UK

Purpose of the Role:

The Customer Service and Credit Support role is responsible for managing and reducing outstanding debt while delivering exceptional customer service experiences. In this role, you will need to foster strong relationships and communicate effectively at group level. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in finance, sales, and customer service to drive collections and maintain positive customer relationships.

About the role:

Credit Support

  • Ensure timely and effective collection of outstanding debts
  • Manage debtor day reporting and monitoring
  • Conduct proactive follow-ups on overdue amounts and send reminders
  • Work closely with finance, sales, and customer service teams to resolve credit and collections matters
  • Raise credit notes where applicable
  • Escalate credit matters to senior management and liaise with external parties.

Customer Service Support

  • Deliver exceptional customer service support by managing queries, set up of new customer accounts, and fostering strong customer relationships.
  • Provide general administrative support to customer service and finance teams to ensure smooth transactions.

About you:

  • Experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or similar role
  • Ability to manage customer relationships professionally and with empathy
  • High energy, drive, and initiative; a self-motivated individual who takes ownership of their work, stays proactive in resolving issues, and consistently seeks ways to improve processes
  • Ability to liaise confidentially with senior management, customers, and external partners
