This is about developing the networks and cultivating the relationships required to get things done in a matrix style organisation. We will also need to implement new governance structures and hold ourselves to account against relevant KPI's. You will play a key role in developing those measures and helping to drive the sustainability culture in Eastern.

  5. Manage the Environment team within a Region/Programme (where relevant).
  6. Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, liaising with regulatory bodies and other agencies, developing partnerships with NGOs, working collaboratively with contracting organisations, maintaining effective liaison with other IP Regions/Programmes and aligned routes, and contributing to the national strategy.
  7. Manage the implementation and continuous improvement of the Environment Management System (EMS) within the Region/Programme through active engagement within the relevant business areas and the supply chain.
  8. Manage the delivery and implementation of environment and sustainability competence framework and associated education and training programme for the Routes/Region/ Programme, supporting staff to understand their responsibilities, and improve technical awareness of environmental aspects.
