Job description

Our client based in Latchingdon Essex are growing their technical team and looking for a QHSE administrator to support the Technical Manager.

If you’ve got a background in Health and Safety Administration and looking to join a fast growing business within the food production industry then this exciting opportunity could be perfect for your new job.

Salary – £28,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with Coordinating the development and implementation of the Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) and with leading ISO 45001 compliance.
  2. Assist with conducting internal audits, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and procedures.
  3. Assist with developing health and safety policies, SOPs, and training programs.
  4. Manage fire safety protocols, including risk assessments and staff training as a fire marshal.
  5. Collaborate with site engineers to ensure health and safety equipment is up to date.
  6. Maintain health and safety records, oversee accident documentation, and conduct investigations.
  7. Monitor compliance with BRC Global Food Standard and support third-party requirements.
  8. Attend weekly management meetings to report on KPIs and analyse safety trends.
  9. Conduct regular site audits and manage the confidential reporting system.
  10. Stay updated on HSE regulations, prepare compliance reports, and assist with legal matters as needed.
  11. Assist management with development of health and safety training programs and provide support for employee education.
  12. Update and monitor Non-Conformances relating to H&S internally.
  13. Review any accidents reported and provide full investigation report.
  14. Allocate lockers and PPE for all new starters.
  15. Provide PPE for site visitors where required.
  16. Work with pest control to ensure correct procedures in place.
