Residential Support Worker for Children and Young People - Wellingborough, Northamptonshire (Driver Required)

Salary: £25,500

This role is waking nights ONLY.

I am currently working with a fantastic provider of children services. They live and breathe their values of compassion, inspiration, dependability, and collaboration. They are now seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join their team. After recently opening their first home, my client will be growing considerably in 2025. Their focus on fostering an inclusive safe environment has allowed them to support each young person's development and prepare them for adulthood. Role Overview:
  • Providing 24-hour care for Children/Young People (8-18 yrs) with emotional and behavioural difficulties, and/or learning disabilities.
  • Provide high-quality care and support to individuals with various needs, including behavioural support, mental health, non-verbal communication, and learning difficulties.
  • Providing advice, care, and stability for all young people, ensuring fair and equal treatment.
  • Support clients in daily activities, including meal preparation, medication management, and household chores.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, families, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of care provided.
Requirements:

Essential

  • Experience in monitoring service delivery and meeting short term objectives.
  • A minimum of 12 months Children's Residential Experience.
  • NVQ level 3 in Children's Services or the willingness to complete your NVQ Level 3 after your first 6 months.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic IT skills (touchscreen devices, computers).
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Flexible, resilient and adaptable in a highly interchangeable environment.
