Job description

We do what we say
We’re keen to hear from people like you who make it their business to get things done on time and to the right standard through monitoring and reporting against milestones or targets.

We have an opportunity for a Planning Team Leader to join our busy South East Water contract in Snodland. In this role, you’ll provide guidance, instruction, and direction to our team of planners.

The Role

You’ll act as a key liaison between departments and stakeholders, ensuring that requirements and expectations are clearly defined. These requirements will often need to be translated into clear, accurate, and concise work instructions to prevent any misunderstandings.

Your strong monitoring skills will help keep work on track, ensuring we meet business, customer, and safety objectives. You’ll also be responsible for collating data, updating information systems, and resolving queries, making sure colleagues have access to the right management information (MI) to support decision-making.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…

  1. Coordinating with repair and maintenance teams to anticipate and prepare for upcoming reinstatement work orders.
  2. Translating project requirements into clear and precise work instructions.
  3. Building and maintaining strong relationships with operational teams, local authorities, and clients.
  4. Requesting appropriate permits from councils, ensuring accuracy in work types and timeframes.
  5. Managing customer inquiries related to site conditions and work defects.
  6. Ensuring the timely closure of permits upon completion of works.
  7. Locating reported works within client and internal systems to ensure effective planning.

We would love to hear from you if…

You are detail-oriented with a forward-thinking approach to problem-solving. You should be highly organised and thrive under pressure, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be engaging with a range of stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective collaboration. Experience in reinstatement is beneficial, along with an understanding of Streetworks and Health & Safety legislation—though training can be provided if needed.

A commitment to accuracy and a 'right first time' mindset is key to success in this role. We’re also looking for someone with excellent customer service skills and a proactive approach to resolving queries, ensuring work is carried out efficiently and to the highest standards.
