Business Development Manager - Commercial & Industrial Solar (1MW+)
Location: Bristol (Remote) - Open to different UK locations
Salary: Base of £60k - £70k + vehicle + bonus
About the Role
Viridis Talent are excited to be partnered with a well-established renewable energy developer with over 15 years of experience in the European PV market.
As they continue their expansion as a full-service Independent Power Producer, they're seeking a Business Development Manager to join their UK team, focusing specifically on Commercial & Industrial Solar projects of 1MW+ capacity.
What You'll Do
- Stakeholder Engagement & Market Development
Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders including local authorities, industrial clients, and business providers.
Pioneer new prospecting methods to secure C&I solar opportunities of 1MW+ capacity.
Structure Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and respond to commercial tenders. - Site Identification & Analysis
Work with the GIS team to identify prime C&I solar opportunities (rooftop, carport, ground-mounted, floating, and hybrid solutions).
Lead technical, environmental, and regulatory feasibility studies for 1MW+ installations.
Secure land or lease agreements for high-potential sites. - Project Development & Permitting
Manage the entire development lifecycle from site selection to pre-construction.
Coordinate with planners, consultants, and legal experts both internally and externally on permitting applications.
Interface with local authorities and grid operators to ensure timely project approvals.
About You- Degree in renewable energy, environmental studies, project management, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-5+ years in a business development role with proven success in solar project development (1MW+ projects).
- Experience with both rooftop and ground-mounted installations, with either behind-the-meter or front-of-the-meter development.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication abilities.
- Solid analytical thinking and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the UK C&I sector and local planning processes is advantageous.
- Valid driver's license (travel required throughout the UK).
