Compliance Manager - Roofing and Cladding Competent Persons Scheme
Location: London Office or Home Based in UK dependent on location
Salary: circa £65k per annum, plus benefits
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time

What We're Looking For

  1. Compliance & Auditing Knowledge: A quality assurance professional, familiar with ISO/IEC 17065:2012.
  2. Technical Expertise: Broad knowledge of the British standards for pitched, flat, and metal roofing disciplines, with a deep understanding of building regulations related to roofing.
  3. Professionalism: A strong communicator with excellent conflict resolution skills, confident in their ability to identify risk and implement effective solutions, whilst maintaining a positive team culture.
  4. Reliability: A positive attitude who actively contributes to their group in order to meet goals and manage projects.
  5. Leadership: An inspirational leader who actively listens to the team, respects ideas and encourages collaboration.

We are looking for a confident management professional to drive the development and delivery of robust quality assurance services to the roofing industry.

Management Competencies

  1. Strong leadership to guide and develop a team of inspectors, ensuring high performance and accountability.
  2. Policy development and implementation creating and maintaining comprehensive technical compliance policies and procedures.
  3. Strong communication skills to develop customer relationships and convey complex compliance requirements to different stakeholders.
  4. Risk assessment and mitigation skills to identify potential areas of non-compliance.

Knowledge Competencies

  1. Technical understanding of building control legislation, guidance, and associated standards.
  2. Thorough knowledge of roofing and cladding quality assurance.
  3. Analytical mindset to investigate incidents and propose improvements.
  4. Training and awareness skills to develop and deliver technical compliance training programmes.

Relevant Qualifications

  1. Certified Compliance Manager (CCM) certificate or equivalent in compliance management.
  2. Building Inspector Professional Class 2 and Competence Level C in accordance with HSE guidance.

Desirable Attributes

  1. Advanced level Microsoft Office 365, experienced in use of CRM and data management platforms.
  2. Attention to detail to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and non-conformities in audits and inspections.
  3. Decisiveness in making compliance-related judgments and enforcing standards.
  4. Proactive mindset to anticipate compliance risks.
  5. Strong report writing ability to document audit findings and compliance reports.
  6. Presentation skills with the confidence to represent NFRC at stakeholder engagements.

As Compliance Manager, You Will:

  1. Work closely with NFRC technical officers to develop robust audit and compliance processes.
  2. Manage a team of inspectors, overseeing surveillance activities and competency assessments.
  3. Provide technical guidance to registered contractors on industry standards and regulatory changes.
  4. Conduct standardisation reviews and compliance rectifications.
  5. Liaise with industry stakeholders, contractors, and technical experts.
  6. Represent NFRC CPS at contractor forums and external events.
