Relief Assistant Support Worker

Bawso is the lead organisation in Wales providing practical and emotional support to black minority ethnic (BME) and migrant victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, human trafficking, Female Genital Mutilation, and forced marriage.

We are seeking to appoint for the following positions to join our dedicated Diogel team.

The Diogel Project provides practical and emotional support to survivors of Modern-day Slavery and to those at risk of exploitation. This includes support with trauma recovery, health issues, legal proceedings, access to immigration support, integrating in the local community, and acquiring life skills. People can be trafficked within and into the UK for many different forms of exploitation such as forced prostitution, forced labour, forced criminality, domestic servitude, and forced marriage. We run the only supported housing (two safe houses) and outreach project for female and male victims of human trafficking and modern slavery in Wales.

Location: Cardiff

Salary: £12 per hour

Hours: The Relief post supports the permanent rota staff by completing shifts that are vacant due to annual leave, training, and other staff absences. We are likely to have day, evening, and night shift availability.

The worker will provide high-quality support and accommodation service to male survivors of modern-day slavery. The role will also include ensuring the welfare and wellbeing of the residents over the course of the evening and at night where required and undertaking certain domestic duties such as basic health and safety checks as and when required.
