We are currently seeking to fill the position of Teacher Assistant.
Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are currently recruiting for a Teacher Assistant to join Stewart’s Melville College on a temporary basis. The position is available immediately until 26 June 2026 (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks). The role is full time, term time, working 36.25 hours per week with a salary of £18,661. The role is based at Stewart’s Melville College on the Queensferry Road site.
This role provides administrative and practical support to teachers and departments, including tasks like photocopying, filing, and managing materials. It also assists with the organization of extracurricular activities, school events, and exams, ensuring smooth preparation and delivery of resources. Additionally, the role supports various school committees, field trips, and pupil assessments as needed.
The successful candidate will be someone with previous administrative or teaching assistance experience, demonstrating excellent organisational and communication skills, both orally and in writing. They will be proficient in the full Microsoft Office package, particularly Word and Excel, with the ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and maintain a high level of attention to detail. Additionally, they should be independent, self-motivated, and uphold high professional and personal standards.
ESMS is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. International applicants will therefore be unable to apply for and secure a Skilled Worker visa. The successful candidate will only be able to take up this role if they can demonstrate an alternative right work in the UK.
