Axcis Education are looking for a teaching assistant to be based in a primary school in South Birmingham. The school is located in Kings Norton and caters for students aged 4 to 11 years. It is well-accessible via public transport as well as by car, with on-site parking available.
This vibrant team is seeking a dedicated teaching assistant to join their growing team on a long-term basis, due to a new pupil with SEND starting soon. The appointed teaching assistant will mainly support in KS1, working with students who have additional needs and challenging behaviours. This is a long-term role with a view to becoming permanent.
The role will require you to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with students who have additional needs and challenging behaviours. This position needs to be filled ASAP; therefore, the successful candidate will be required to start work on a full-time basis imminently, working 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday. The role will be ongoing through the end of this summer term and will resume in September, with a view to moving onto a permanent contract during the autumn term.
The candidate must have experience supporting children with special educational needs and challenging behaviours on a professional or personal basis. Qualifications and school/classroom experience are not essential but would be a significant advantage.
