Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Salary: £94 - £140 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate or after Easter 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time (Part-time can also be arranged for the right candidate)

GSL Education are seeking a versatile and enthusiastic Supply Teacher to join a mainstream secondary school in Southampton. As a Supply Teacher, you will have the opportunity to deliver high-quality lessons across various subjects, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the regular class teacher. You will be responsible for creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment, maintaining high standards of behaviour, and delivering pre-planned lessons effectively.

Responsibilities of Supply Teacher:

• Deliver engaging and structured lessons across a range of secondary subjects.
• Adapt to different classroom environments and ensure a smooth transition for students.
• Follow pre-prepared lesson plans while also using initiative to maintain high-quality learning experiences.
• Establish and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere, promoting student engagement and respect.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
• Provide feedback to students and staff regarding lesson progress and student engagement.
• Work collaboratively with school staff and leadership teams to support student development.
• Be a reliable and professional presence, ready to contribute to the success of each school.

The successful candidate will:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Career Teacher (ECT) status, or relevant teaching experience.
• Proven experience teaching at the secondary level, preferably across multiple subjects.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to adapt quickly to different learning environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and staff.
• A commitment to ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
