Location: London

At AXA XL we solve today’s complex risks to drive tomorrow’s innovation. We see our careers with AXA XL as a chance to unleash our potential globally. Cultivate expertise. Collaborate constantly. Analyse deeper. Dream bigger.

Our Claims team sets us apart. Our experienced Claims professionals use their expertise to handle the most complex claims seamlessly. You focus on excellence and creating a culture of continuous improvement, fostering collaboration, customer service, and colleague development.

This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Casualty Claims professional to work with the London Wholesale Casualty Claims team, contributing to the excellent offering we provide to our clients across the globe. This is a varied and challenging role, requiring adaptability to changing workloads and efficient communication at all levels. It’s an ideal role for someone who would like the opportunity to be a referral point for junior members in the team and provide guidance.

You will be based in our London office; however, we offer a hybrid way of working. Most of the team spends approximately half of their time working from home, allowing a better balance between work and home life, subject to business requirements.

This is a regulated role under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity regime.

Essential Responsibilities
  1. Embrace and deliver on the strategic drivers that AXA XL has in place from 2024, including tailored client solutions, offering value beyond the policy, leveraging data to help clients make better decisions and streamlining processes to improve value.
  2. Managing a portfolio of mid to high value claims across all jurisdictions, including Canada, Australia, Italy, UK&I, and US. Pro-active case management and regular engagement with all stakeholders.
  3. Attending (virtual/in-person) ADR settlement forums as part of the proactive case management philosophy and cost containment responsibility.
  4. Analysing policy covers across the LW Casualty book to ensure appropriate application and allocation.
  5. Reporting to Senior Internal Management for all high value, catastrophic, and contentious claims/events.
  6. Timely and accurate management of case and block file reserves to meet company standards and market expectations.
  7. Developing and maintaining effective relationships with Underwriters, Actuaries, Senior Management, internal and external stakeholders, and the wider claims teams.
  8. Acting as a reference point to Claims Adjusters for support, development, and progression.
  9. Oversight of our Third Party Administrator and Cover Holder partners across all territories.
  10. Effective Litigation management and spend control.
  11. Monitoring and adjusting DA funds for high volume accounts.
  12. Working with Offshore/Shared Services to ensure delivery of the agreed service.
  13. Periodic status delivery to Underwriters and Actuaries of portfolio trends and large or contentious claim developments.
  14. Attending new business meetings and presentations to deliver the claims philosophy.
  15. Preparing for and presenting large claim activity to the Management/Leadership team.
  16. Effective diary management.
  17. Managing static and inactive claims across the wider team as required.
  18. Engaging with project groups when required to facilitate business improvement or product enhancement.
  19. Always looking for ways to improve and enhance the service we provide – lead by example.
Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  1. A truly client-first mindset.
  2. An ability to adapt communication skills.
  3. International casualty claims adjusting experience within the Lloyds of London and company markets, including US.
  4. Proactivity and technical capability in the management of high value losses.
  5. Persuasive communicator able to adapt to different audiences and stakeholders.
  6. Happy to work on team activities or individually.
  7. Innovative mindset – ability to find successful solutions.
  8. High level of numeracy and attention to detail.
  9. Committed to achieving excellence.
  10. Ability to prioritise tasks and responsibilities.
  11. Educated to A Level standard minimum, or equivalent.
  12. Comprehensive knowledge of ECF2, the Lloyds market, International Casualty claims, including TPA work, Vendor Management, and other GL lines.
