Fire Commissioning/Service Engineer – Scotland

Are you an experienced Fire Commissioning or Service Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge naval vessels? Johnson Controls’ Global Marine & Navy Fire Team is seeking a remotely based engineer, ideally located in Scotland (Glasgow/Edinburgh area), to support our Set to Work (STW)/Commissioning team on Fixed Fire Projects.

Your Role:

  • Commissioning and setting to work Fixed Fire Systems on naval vessels
  • Collaborating with customers, project teams, and sub-contractors to ensure successful system implementation
  • Attending progress meetings, testing events, and drafting reports
  • Ensuring compliance with EHS safety protocols and risk assessments
  • Supporting the Fixed Fire Service Team when not engaged in commissioning projects

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in servicing or commissioning Fixed Fire Systems
  • Strong mechanical engineering background (qualification desirable)
  • Ability to read engineering drawings (P&IDs, schematics)
  • Familiarity with shipyards, commissioning processes, and test equipment
  • Full UK driver’s license
  • Security Clearance (SC UK MOD) or willingness to obtain it
  • Flexibility to travel and work away from home for periods of up to 3-4 weeks
