Multiple Site Engineer Roles across various locations - Leeds, North East, and Penrith!
Our Client has a requirement for Site Engineers, who will be required to work on a contract basis across various UK locations:
- Locations: Leeds, North East, and Penrith
- Contract work: 6 months initially – long term project work
- Day rate and Night rates: on offer at an uplifted rate
Role Purpose:
The primary purpose is to support the implementation of the engineering strategy for a designated project, ensuring efficient management of materials, labour, and resources within the allocated budget.
Key Responsibilities (Accountabilities):
- Engineering Strategy and Project Support: Assist the senior team in implementing the project’s engineering strategy and framework.
- Resource Management: Manage materials, plant, and labour, ensuring their efficient and safe use within the allocated budget.
- Communication of Systems and Design: Ensure all relevant systems and design information are communicated effectively to project teams.
- Verification and Technical Support: Provide support to the project delivery team, including verifying work and offering technical guidance.
- Project Assurance: Lead or support project audits, ensuring adherence to best practices, quality, and safety standards.
- Customer and Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, technical consultants, and suppliers, managing their input into design and delivery.
- Continuous Improvement and Team Development: Coach and motivate the team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Procurement and Material Control: Ensure efficient procurement processes and maintain accurate schedules and cost reports.
- Quality Control and Technical Integrity: Implement quality assurance principles and ensure that the customer’s requirements are met.
- Progress Reporting: Provide accurate and timely progress reports to senior management, highlighting performance against project estimates.
- Digital Tool Integration: Leverage digital tools and technologies to support project execution and enhance efficiency.
- Health, Safety, and Sustainability: Maintain a focus on Zero Harm and contribute to sustainability efforts.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Engineering Expertise: Previous experience in engineering and a subject matter expert in the relevant discipline.
- Educational Background: A degree in an engineering discipline and professional qualifications (e.g., MICE, MIStructE) are desirable.
- Experience and Skills: Prior management experience in construction or a related industry, with strong knowledge of technical issues and trends.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills, able to build relationships and work under pressure.
- Innovation and Development Focus: A strong desire to innovate and continuously pursue engineering excellence.
- Additional Desirable Skills: Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its practical application. Tier One contractor experience would also be desirable.
