There can be few better places for ambitious insurance professionals to forward their career than this well-respected brokerage. Already one of the Leeds market’s largest independent brokers, it achieved 30% growth last year and is set to deliver the same again in 2025.

Clearly in growth mode, the company is capitalising on this trajectory by appointing a Junior Account Executive in this exciting, newly-created role. Here, you will ‘learn the ropes’ from some of the most talented Senior Account Executives in the market, helping with the day-to-day running of their portfolios (comprising risks typically generating commission and fee income in excess of £10,000). This includes everything from assisting with broking support, marketing risks, and dealing with day-to-day enquiries, through to shadowing them on client visits.

In addition, you will start by inheriting a portfolio of smaller clients generating total brokerage of circa £60,000. These clients are from a range of industries such as manufacturing, retail, and property owners, and generally generate commission income of £2,000 - £5,000. This portfolio will soon swell to over six-figure commission income, through further inherited accounts and being passed a high volume of warm, qualified leads from a long-established partner. While you will receive a high level of support from colleagues across the business, this portfolio is very much your own to grow and manage as you see fit, and you will be expected to guide Account Handlers on how to help run your account.

While we welcome candidates from both broking and underwriting backgrounds, it is essential that you have a sound understanding of all common commercial covers such as Property, EL, PL, and Motor etc. You must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be confident in dealing with clients face-to-face and over the phone. You should be well-organised, have good task-management skills, and the ability to work in a highly compliant fashion. While not essential, knowledge of the Acturis broking platform would add weight to your application.

In return, you will receive a generous basic salary that is anticipated to be between £35,000 - £40,000 but completely negotiable for outstanding candidates. You will also receive a lucrative bonus and an impressive array of company benefits.
