About The Role

We are passionate about promoting social inclusion for people living with dementia. We are looking for volunteers that will support people living with dementia to attend and participate in local pre-arranged social activities/groups.

This role will be crucial in helping people to stay connected and engaged with their communities and reduce social isolation.

This role will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Criminal Records Check from either the Disclosure and Barring Service (England & Wales), Disclosure Scotland Check (Scotland) or AccessNI (Northern Ireland).

You'll be great for the role if you:

• Have an interest in developing meaningful relationships and making a real difference.
• Are committed to supporting people living with and affected by dementia to remain active in their local communities.
• Can demonstrate empathy, compassion and patience.
• Have good listening and communication skills.
• You are aware of or are willing to learn about dementia and its impact on people.

Minimum age 18 years

A volunteering opportunity is available at our Together Group every Wednesday from 2-4 at Quakers Meeting House 150 Church Rd, Watford WD17 4QB. You would be required to be there half an hour before the group to help set up the room and half an hour after the group to help tidy up. You will be helping the group facilitator during the session run the activities and provide refreshments. If you are available to volunteer at the groups then we would love to hear from you.
