Our client HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is an agency of the Ministry of Justice. HMCTS provides administrative support for the legal system across England and Wales, ensuring justice works for everyone.

Brook Street are currently recruiting for an Admin Officer to work with a large public sector client within the legal sector at Reading Courts. An Admin Officer is required at Reading Crown courts with an initial contract until the end of March 2025.

Salary: £11.59 per hour raising to £12.53 per hour after 12 weeks.

Schedule: Monday to Friday.

Duties Include:
  • Checking, processing, and responding to court applications.
  • Informing the courts and prisons establishment of the diarised defendant hearing.
  • Dealing with customers via telephone and face to face.
  • Using internal systems to log data - training will be provided.
  • Processing customer emails and responding.
  • Checking and processing new applications to the Court and responding.
  • Setting up video links with legal professionals and prison establishments.
  • Notifying prison establishments which defendants are required at court the following day.
  • Dealing with customers at the public counter and on the telephone.
  • Logging data on internal computer systems.
  • Additional admin duties as required, including assisting the court usher team with sitting out with juries in retirement.

3-year referencing and DBS clearance are required for this role.
