Salary: £25,918 - £39,004 per annum

A prestigious Sixth Form College based in Cambridge, with campuses in both Cambridge and Huntingdon, is seeking a dynamic and qualified Employability Trainer to join its dedicated staff team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in equipping students with essential career skills, supporting their personal and professional development, and preparing them for successful futures beyond the college.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality employability and careers-focused training to students across both Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses
- Develop engaging, effective lesson plans and resources to enhance students’ employability skills, including interview techniques, CV writing, networking, and workplace readiness
- Provide one-on-one and group coaching sessions tailored to diverse student needs and aspirations
- Collaborate with the Careers and Employability teams to ensure programs align with industry standards and college objectives
- Build and maintain relationships with local employers, arranging guest speaker events, workshops, and work experience opportunities
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their career journeys
- Regularly review and update the employability curriculum to reflect current job market trends and employer expectations
Requirements
- Relevant Qualification: A minimum of a Level 4 qualification in Careers Guidance, Employability, Education, or a related field. Higher qualifications are advantageous.
- Experience: At least two years of proven experience delivering employability, careers, or work readiness programs, preferably within a school or college setting.
- Passion for Development: A strong commitment to student success and a passion for helping young people reach their potential in both academic and employment settings.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and external partners.
- Organizational Skills: Able to manage a varied workload across two campuses, plan lessons effectively, and maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Adaptability and Teamwork: Willingness to work flexibly across campuses and contribute to a supportive team environment.
- DBS Clearance: Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance (or willingness to obtain one prior to the start date) is essential.
