Job description

We are currently looking to recruit a Package Manager to join the joint venture responsible for working on the Old Oak Common Station project in London (NW10) - Set to be the best connected and largest new railway stations ever built in the UK, Old Oak Common will become one of the country’s most vital transport super hubs.

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Package Lead and be assisting in the management of various subcontractor packages related to utility diversions and highways construction.

Duties

  • Review specifications & drawings, as well as documents prepared by the subcontractor (ITP, RAMS).
  • Ensure that inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works are being implemented and adhered to.
  • Propose any optimisations of constructability, producing high level construction methodologies to support procurement, interface management and early consenting requirements (logistics, noise, access etc).
  • Monitor effectiveness of the H&S management System.
  • Develop/monitor/report against resource allocation plans in line with scope and outputs.
  • Assist the Package Manager to lead risk/opportunity reviews, present the Risk Register and recommend/implement changes.
  • Ensure production of operational milestones reflect master schedule and customer expectations.
  • Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes/variations, subcontractors’ attendance, and records of work-related discussions with Client/Designer/Supply Chain/Project Team.

Person Specification

  • Knowledge of highways and utility construction techniques, sequencing, and best practice.
  • Knowledge and understanding of working to and implementing construction contracts.
  • HND/Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Hold a valid CSCS.
  • SMSTS.

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time - 40 hours - Monday to Friday
