Heat Network Engineer
Central London
£60,000 per annum
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (3 days in office, 2 working from home)
Our Central London based client is looking for a Heat Network Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will have experience in project development within mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, renewables engineering, or heat exchanges.
Our client is a fast-growing business operating with heat network projects that fund, design, build, operate, and maintain low carbon district energy networks and building energy systems. A strong understanding of heat exchanges and renewable energy will be advantageous for this role.

What will the Heat Network Engineer be doing?
- Communicating with the team, clients, client engineers, contractors, and specialist suppliers.
- Assessing tendering information including design, programme/delivery requirements, performance requirements, key constraints, proposed contract, and commercial considerations.
- Ascertaining key risks and opportunities for potential heat network schemes.
- Assessing potential opportunities for Heat Network Schemes including demand, future growth, types of connections in a certain location, low carbon heat sources, and potential cost of heat.
- Working closely with the estimating team to ensure projects are priced to reflect the objectives of schemes.
- Working closely with the operations team to ensure the proposals can be operated and maintained as required.

What we are looking for in the Heat Network Engineer?
- Previous experience in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Renewables, or Heat Exchanges is desired.
- Able to commute into central London 3 days a week.
- Understanding of the steps in how energy infrastructure projects are developed and delivered (feasibility, pricing, design development, procurement, construction, commissioning, operations, customer services, etc.).
- An awareness of key drivers of the decarbonisation of UK heat supply.
