Location: Warrington, Golden Square Shopping Centre, WA1 1QP

Your role will be based within a busy schuh store. You will be providing excellent service by delivering the schuh customer service values and being part of a team that maintains high standards of presentation & display, and efficiently handles stock, cash, and administration.

Your Responsibilities:

1. CUSTOMER SERVICE
   1. Deliver service that meets our customers’ individual needs & always exceeds their expectations.
   2. Care & respect customers & your colleagues.
   3. Acknowledge & greet customers and be aware of them at all times.
   4. Move fast & react quickly to customer needs including telephone queries.
   5. Politely deal with customer complaints and make customer led decisions to help to find the right solution.
   6. Acquire a sound knowledge of the product range including features & benefits.
   7. Always offer alternatives when the customer's first choice is not available.
   8. Positively promote the Company’s customer order service.
2. MERCHANDISING & DISPLAY
   1. Acquire a sound knowledge of store layout and merchandising techniques.
   2. Merchandise and present products on all types of fixtures considering Company guidelines.
   3. Ensure all display products are priced correctly, kept clean, tidy and replenished at all times.
3. CASH HANDLING & ADMINISTRATION
   1. Process sales and understand Company procedures for accepting all types of payment.
   2. Understand the correct method for processing refunds and exchanges.
4. STOCK MANAGEMENT
   1. Receive, unpack, check and put away stock deliveries quickly.
   2. Carry out stock counts and implement price changes quickly and accurately.
   3. Organise the transfer of stock to other locations.
   4. Ensure all stock is stored properly & safely.
   5. Take action to observe security procedures and minimise stock loss.
5. COMMERCIAL AWARENESS
   1. Know the store sales plans & other key targets.
   2. Make suggestions to improve store performance.
   3. Be aware of best and worst selling lines.
6. MISCELLANEOUS
   1. Understand and comply with the Company's Health & Safety policy and procedures.
   2. Carry out further duties as required by Store Management.

This is an overview of some of your potential everyday tasks. At schuh, you will be working towards the Retail Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard over 15 months.

About the Apprenticeship

The Retailer Level 2 Apprenticeship Programme is designed for people who are looking to kick-start their career within the retail industry. Each apprentice will be given the opportunity to earn while they learn, gaining valuable work experience to achieve their Retail Apprenticeship.

We work in partnership with Lifetime Training to provide Retail Apprenticeships. Lifetime Training will support the successful candidate throughout the programme.
