Location: Blackpool
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About Us:
Our client, a thriving business located near the end of the M55 is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals at all levels of experience to advance their career in accounting and finance within a supportive and growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:
As an Accounts Assistant, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  1. Posting accruals and prepayments.
  2. Checking and coding invoices and employee expenses.
  3. Recording all non-allowable expenses to assist in the completion of the PAYE Settlement.
  4. Ensuring compliance with VAT rules and regulations.
  5. Utilising Excel for various accounting tasks and data analysis.
  6. Assisting with month-end and year-end financial processes.
  7. Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records.
  8. Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.

Requirements:

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
  2. Strong understanding of VAT rules and regulations.
  3. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  6. A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is advantageous but not essential.
  2. Relevant accounting qualifications or working towards one (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) will be considered a plus.
