Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to work in our well-established Surrey Heath Children and Young Service team.
The Postholder will be responsible for providing clinical input and leadership to our Children and Young Peoples Service clinics based at Unither House, Chertsey covering the NW patch of Surrey.
Candidates will work with two other consultants, 2 SAS doctors and Trainees in a multidisciplinary team setting. This is a very good opportunity for a newly appointed consultant, as there is support, mentorship and opportunities for further development.
We provide various community services, integrated health and social care, early intervention, and detection programmes, and highly specialised therapy and treatment. Our high-quality care focuses on enabling people to live well with their conditions and to work towards recovery.
There is flexibility on the total amount of PA's and part time applicants will be considered.
You'll have the opportunity of working within a well-established and friendly team of highly skilled professionals who are passionate and committed to the care needs of our children and young people.
You would be responsible for providing a diagnostic, assessment and treatment service for children and adolescents with mental health problems within a multi-disciplinary approach to care, promoting high-quality multidisciplinary working and relationships.
On average, a full-time consultant would do 2-3 monthly assessments and holds a caseload of approximately 60 in our service. Patients have a consultant review after 6 weeks of treatment in the team and then every 2-3 months.
You will participate in an emergency out-of-hours rota, providing back-up for junior doctors and professionals in assessing young people seen in A&E.
