Graduate Aspiring Psychotherapist - Guildford - Graduates and Trainees – Mental Health – SEN – Psychology – Criminology – Sociology
Are you passionate about demonstrating the value of education to vulnerable children who have been exposed to traumas and adverse childhood experiences? Are you also passionate about restorative approaches?
We are looking for a dedicated Graduate Aspiring Psychotherapist to work in a small, specialist school near Guildford. All students have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, along with associated challenging behaviours. The school focuses on addressing the educational, social, and therapeutic needs of students, emphasizing individual happiness and well-being, allowing students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
This role offers essential restorative experience within anti-social and challenging settings – ideal for those considering a career in prison, rehabilitation, probation, or youth justice services. Based on holistic and therapeutic practice, this position is an excellent opportunity for Criminology and Psychology Graduates. The role provides hands-on experience working with vulnerable children, where you will build strong relationships to increase engagement, attainment, and life chances, aiming to prevent entry into the criminal justice system.
You will work alongside teachers and specialist staff to support students with SEMH challenges and traumas. You will identify risks and needs, escalating where necessary.
