Role: Educational Psychologist (Part-Time)

Hours: 1-2 days per week (0.2 FTE)

Location: Hybrid (on-site at our clinic / remote / school observations)

Start Date: ASAP

Responsible to: Directors of Clinical Operations, Head of Clinical Services, and Child, Young Person, and Family Pathway Lead

Why Join Us?

  • Flexibility and Work-Life Balance: We offer a hybrid working model, with flexibility to balance your time between school visits, remote work, and on-site clinic sessions.
  • Collaborative Environment: Be part of an expert multidisciplinary team, working alongside psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, and nutritionists to deliver integrated care for our young clients.
  • Professional Growth: We believe in supporting your development with regular supervision, managerial support, in-house training, and quarterly CPD events.
  • Impactful Work: Help children and young people navigate their educational and mental health challenges, delivering tailored assessments and providing therapeutic guidance to school and family teams.

Key Responsibilities

As an Educational Psychologist, your role will primarily involve:

  • Educational assessments (including school observations) for children and young people, with a focus on identifying learning difficulties, neurodevelopmental conditions, and mental health challenges.
  • Conducting 2-4 assessments per month, with each assessment including 6 hours of direct contact (4 hours in person, 2 hours online), followed by comprehensive report writing.
  • Post-diagnostic work and liaising with schools, families, and other professionals to ensure the child’s needs are met in a holistic and creative manner.
  • Providing therapeutic advice and supporting children with complex conditions, referring them to other members of our multidisciplinary team (MDT) where appropriate.

  • Experience with a range of learning difficulties, neurodevelopmental conditions, and mental health needs.
  • Expertise in using tools such as WISC-V, WIAT-III, and WPPSI-IV, or equivalent assessments.
  • The ability to adapt assessments for non-verbal children and work flexibly to meet individual needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with school staff (e.g., SENCO), families, and our in-house team.
