Position: SEN Teacher
Location: Dorchester
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 Per Annum
Start Date: Immediate / September
Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent


Are you a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher looking for a new opportunity in Dorchester? Look no further! GSL Education are currently looking for a dedicated SEN Teacher for a local school based in Dorchester immediately. There is scope to start from September too.


About the School:

The school encompasses two sites in Dorchester with one common shared purpose: to provide the very best in education and support for all children who (for a variety of reasons) find themselves outside of mainstream school education. The school is an alternative provision that uses vocational and extracurricular methods to enable the students to gain functional and life skills. With a primary and secondary division, the school is inclusive of all ages and abilities and strives to give its pupils the best possible opportunities for post 16 life.


About the Role:

As a SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. You will deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of each student, fostering an inclusive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive. With your expertise in SEN education, you will empower students to reach their full potential and achieve academic success.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and deliver dynamic lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  2. Provide individualised support and guidance to students, promoting their academic and personal development.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to create comprehensive support plans for students with SEN.
  4. Maintain accurate records of student progress and development, ensuring that all necessary documentation is up to date.
  5. Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and carers, promoting effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification in SEN education.
  2. Previous experience of working in a SEN school setting.
  3. Strong understanding of different SEN conditions and effective strategies for supporting students.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  5. Dedication to promoting inclusion and equality in education.
