About Us: South Essex Homes is dedicated to providing high-quality housing services to our community. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Complaints and Data Protection Manager to join our team and ensure our services meet the highest standards of compliance and customer satisfaction.

Role Overview: As the Complaints and Data Protection Manager, you will lead a team responsible for managing complaints and ensuring compliance with data protection legislation. You will act as the Data Protection Officer, oversee the complaints handling process, and provide training and guidance to staff on data protection matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Data Protection Officer, ensuring compliance with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Develop and maintain data protection policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular data protection audits and risk assessments.
  • Manage data breach incidents and report to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as required.
  • Oversee the complaints handling process, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Regularly review and update the Complaints and Compensation Policies.
  • Provide regular reports on data protection and complaints handling performance to senior management.

About You:

  • Strong understanding of GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Experience in data protection and complaints management, preferably within the social housing sector.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and work under pressure.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and best practices.
