Production Manager - Rotational Moulding

Location: Baston, Lincolnshire, PE6 9PT

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Profit Sharing

The Company

A leading UK manufacturer of rotationally moulded polyethylene tanks and liquid storage solutions is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee their specialist manufacturing operations. The company serves the agricultural, industrial, and commercial sectors, producing high-performance plastic tanks that meet stringent industry standards. The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled Production Manager with extensive experience in rotational moulding and plastics manufacturing. The role requires a deep understanding of polymer processing, mould design, and production efficiencies within a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the production facility, ensuring that all processes run efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and manage the rotational moulding production team to meet output, quality, and efficiency targets
  2. Optimise moulding processes to improve cycle times, reduce waste, and enhance product consistency
  3. Oversee mould maintenance and tooling, ensuring correct set-up, upkeep, and troubleshooting of equipment
  4. Implement and monitor quality control procedures, ensuring all products meet customer specifications and industry standards
  5. Develop and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for rotational moulding and associated processes
  6. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of safe working practices
  7. Work closely with R&D and engineering teams to support product development and new tooling integration
  8. Manage raw material procurement and stock control, ensuring optimal inventory levels for smooth production flow
  9. Train and develop staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning

Requirements

Candidate Requirements

  1. Proven experience in a senior production role within a rotational moulding or plastics manufacturing environment
  2. Strong technical knowledge of polymer processing, mould design, and machine operation
  3. Experience with troubleshooting moulding defects and process inefficiencies
  4. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies
  5. Excellent leadership skills, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams
  6. Ability to analyse production data and implement efficiency improvements
  7. Strong understanding of health & safety regulations in a manufacturing setting
