A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Executive Assistant to join our team on a Full Time, Permanent basis!
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for you to provide professional support to the General Counsel (and their team) at National Grid Electricity Distribution.
This is a crucial role, working closely with the General Counsel and their senior leadership team. You’ll look after the General Counsel’s world by extensively and proactively managing diaries and emails, organising travel and accommodation, understanding and prioritising key activities to assist in achieving deadlines. As EA you will also co-ordinate meetings, seminars, conferences, events, team meetings for the General Counsel and their direct reports.
We are specifically seeking a highly organised and forward-thinking individual with proficient communication skills who can work in an ever-changing fast-paced pressurised environment.
What You'll Do
- Manage the General Counsel’s diary and inbox, ensuring preparedness for meetings and handle complex travel arrangements.
- Take ownership of the inbox by understanding priorities, flagging key items, and addressing urgent issues.
- Sort and manage documents and reading materials, keeping the General Counsel informed with the right information at the right time.
- Operate at a high level to support a General Counsel in a fast-paced environment.
- Utilise digital tools and automation to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Take initiative and anticipate needs, identifying opportunities to enhance workflow without constant direction.
- Identify inefficiencies in current workflows and implement improved systems for better productivity.
- Provide sharp, highly organised support while bringing structure and initiative to enhance operations.
About You
- Proven Experience: Experience as an Executive Assistant, preferably at the C Suite level.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Generative AI: Knowledge of Generative AI tools to enhance productivity is a plus.
- Discretion and Confidentiality: Demonstrates impeccable judgment when handling sensitive information.
- Emotional Intelligence and Diplomacy: Manages relationships with senior stakeholders, internal teams, and external partners, adapting tone and building strong working relationships.
- Excellent Written Communication: Capable of drafting clear, professional emails on behalf of the senior leader, saving time.
- Crisis Management and Problem-Solving: Remains calm under pressure and makes quick, effective decisions during last-minute disruptions or urgent matters.
- Gatekeeping and Prioritisation: Knows when to protect the senior leader's time, push back, and distinguish between urgent and important tasks.
- Project Coordination Skills: Assists in tracking key deadlines, coordinating follow-ups, and supporting the execution of major initiatives.
- Attention to Detail: Ensures precision in reviewing documents, managing deadlines, and arranging complex travel.

A competitive salary between £39,057 - £45,949 dependent on capability

- Location: We are also offering hybrid working in which we envisage you will spend on average 2 – 3 days a week at the London office and as and when the business requires
