We are a family run food production business supplying many 5 star hotels and high end customers in and around Central London with delicious food products. Our customers are under pressure to perform every day and rely on us to supply them with high quality products and excellent customer service. We do not let them down and exceed their expectations.

The Production Manager, in conjunction with the head of unit, is responsible for the overall daily running of the business.

The role is very involved and engaged in most aspects. We work around the clock and teams work at different times so good communication is essential. This position is our central communications point, reporting to the Managing Director.

Responsibilities

• Generation of various weekly and monthly reports
• All aspects of staff management, time keeping and holiday planning
• Gathering of certain payroll information and sending this off to accounts once per month
• Direct overseeing and planning of dispatch and delivery teams, including recruitment
• Monitoring and ensuring implementation of Health and Safety and Food Safety Systems, in conjunction with the Technical Manager
• Organising maintenance of machines and vans
• Managing of various customer online portals
• Invoicing and credit control
• Response to customer emails and special requests
• General troubleshooting
• Out of hours response to emergencies via company mobile

Minimum Requirements

• 5 years previous experience in food operations or food production
• 3 years management experience
• Very computer literate with excellent skills in Word and Excel
• Knowledgeable about Health and Safety and Food Safety (top up training can be provided)
• Superb managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and get the best out of people
• Very driven, proactive, and action-oriented
• A self-starter, capable of thinking independently and seeing projects through from start to finish
• Excellent problem solver
• Understanding of business needs
• Practical
