What is the role?

We are on the lookout for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Assistant Site Manager to join our busy Construction team. This role reports into the Site Manager and will support with the daily supervision of the onsite workforce.

The purpose of the role is to assist the Site Manager with the management of the construction site according to company guidelines and goals ensuring all aspects of the project are in conformity with proposed budgets, timelines and construction and quality standards.

The role will include:

  1. Assist with the management of a construction site, to ensure the development is completed on time, to specification and safety regulations, while complying with company and construction build and quality standards.
  2. Ensure all quality and safety inspections are within quality control standards and carried out in accordance with Group guidelines.
  3. Facilitate communication and coordinate activities with external third-parties, such as warranty provider, local authorities and utility companies to ensure achievement of the build programme.
  4. Maintaining accurate records for the development including but not limited to, staff inductions, Health, Safety and Environment, timesheets, incident reports, quality control checklists.
  5. Ensure materials are called off in a timely manner and checked and stored in accordance with Group guidelines.
  6. Supervise activity of the workforce, including all subcontractors, to ensure works are completed on time, to the desired quality standards and within budget.
  7. Work cohesively with other departments across the Operating Company such as Sales and Customer Care to ensure achievement of targets, for example prompt resolution of customer care issues and timely updates relating to plot progress.
  8. Ensure compliance of the site workforce and all visitors with the Group Health, Safety and Environment Policy to minimise incidents and accidents.

What we need from you?

  1. Experience within the house building industry is essential.
  2. Understanding of the NHBC or /LABC/Premier standards.
  3. Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  4. Current CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  5. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) is preferred.
  6. Full UK Driving Licence is required.
  7. Qualified to minimum NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision is desirable, however training will be provided.
