A leading fashion supplier specializing in the design, manufacture, wholesale, and retail of fashion and sports brands across Menswear, Womenswear, and Childrenswear is seeking a talented Mens Sportswear Designer to join its growing team. The company is known for its innovative approach to performance and lifestyle apparel, combining style, function, and cutting-edge fabric technologies to create high-quality, commercially successful collections.

Role Overview

The Mens Sportswear Designer will be responsible for creating trend-led, performance-driven designs that align with both brand identity and market demands. This role requires a strong understanding of technical fabrics, garment construction, and activewear functionality, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, manufacturers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting trend research and analysis to inform seasonal design directions.
• Developing sketches, technical drawings, and mood boards that align with brand and retail strategies.
• Sourcing and developing high-performance fabrics, trims, and materials suitable for sports and activewear.
• Collaborating with pattern cutters, garment technologists, and factories to ensure design feasibility and fit accuracy.
• Building cohesive collections that are both innovative and commercially viable.
• Working closely with buyers, production teams, and marketing teams to ensure successful product launches.
• Liaising with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and lead times are met.
• Incorporating sustainable practices and materials where possible.

Key Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in sportswear or activewear design, ideally within a supplier or brand environment.
• Strong knowledge of technical fabrics, garment construction, and performance wear functionalities.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software.
• Ability to translate global fashion and sportswear trends into commercially successful designs.
• Experience in working with factories and understanding production processes.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• A proactive, highly organized, and detail-oriented approach.
• Knowledge of sustainability and innovation in sportswear is an advantage.
