At Amazon Games, our ambition is to create bold new experiences that foster community in and around our games. Our team of game industry veterans is developing and publishing live service AAA multiplayer games and developing original IPs, including New World: Aeternum and an upcoming title based on The Lord of the Rings, with our studios and teams in Seattle, Orange County, San Diego, Montreal, and Bucharest. Amazon Games also publishes best-in-class games in close collaboration with developers, leading with Lost Ark from Smilegate RPG, THRONE AND LIBERTY from NCSOFT, and King of Meat from Glowmade, as well as the next major entry in the Tomb Raider series from Crystal Dynamics.


As a Lead Artist, you use your skills and experience to lead the team in creating iconic 3D characters, environment art and concepts that players will cherish. Your pragmatic approach and artistic skills shape the visual identity of these assets, adding depth, emotion and authenticity. By leading the team to excellence, you create memorable connections between players and the compelling assets you and your team bring to life.


Key job responsibilities

  1. Create high quality 3D assets in line with the game vision and technical constraints;
  2. Set quality benchmarks for 3D assets for the game;
  3. Develop workflows according to team and production needs;
  4. Organize and facilitate regular team meetings to assign tasks, set priorities, discuss progress, etc.;
  5. Adopt the latest tools and techniques to raise the quality bar for environment and character art;
  6. Evaluate integrated work and ensure it is in harmony with the art direction and can be animated well;
  7. Provide coaching and constructive feedback to develop a consistent and high-quality visual style.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Extensive experience in 3D art assets production;
  2. Ability to adapt to stylized art direction;
  3. Online portfolio demonstrating art skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Proficiency with Maya, ZBrush or other modelling software;
  2. Knowledge of Substance Painter, Substance Designer or similar packages;
  3. Experience of working with Unreal 5 or similar game engine;
  4. Mastery of the 3D character production pipeline;
  5. Capacity to learn new tools and techniques;
  6. Ability to mentor and share knowledge.
