Job Title: Part-time Teaching Assistant
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary: £12.82 per hour
Start: After Easter 2025 or September 2025
Contract: Part-time

GSL Education are currently looking for a part-time Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant mainstream primary school in Portsmouth. If you have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), or are looking to gain experience in this area, this is an ideal opportunity for you. Key Responsibilities of the Part-time Teaching Assistant (TA):

• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across various subjects.
• Work closely with children, offering targeted support to ensure they meet their learning objectives.
• Support children’s social and emotional development by encouraging positive interactions and behaviour.
• Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to reviews.
• Ensure the classroom is a safe, inclusive, and productive environment for all learners.

Who We Are Looking For:

• Experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
• University students are highly encouraged to apply.
• A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to learning.
• Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.
• An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, with any gaps explained).
• An enhanced DBS registered to the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
