Food Technician
Location: Kensington and Chelsea
Salary: £100 - £130 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Temporary

GSL Education London Branch is looking for a Food Technician to join a vibrant and inclusive comprehensive secondary school in Kensington and Chelsea. This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and enthusiastic individual who loves working in a busy food technology environment. If you have a passion for supporting students and teachers in delivering high-quality food lessons, this role is perfect for you!

Responsibilities of a Food Technician:
  1. Prepare and set up ingredients, tools, and equipment for food technology lessons.
  2. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the food technology rooms and equipment.
  3. Support teachers and students during practical cooking sessions.
  4. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed at all times.
  5. Manage stock levels, order supplies, and keep records of ingredients and materials.
  6. Assist in the development of lesson resources and demonstrations.
  7. Provide technical support to teachers and students as needed.
Requirements for a Food Technician:
  1. Previous experience as a Food Technician or in a similar role is desirable.
  2. A strong understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations.
  3. Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. A passion for food technology and education.
  6. An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
