Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of transport planning projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop innovative transport strategies, ensuring sustainable, practical, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
  • Prepare and present high-quality technical reports, feasibility studies, and business cases.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing and identifying new opportunities.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • A degree in transport planning, engineering, geography, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in transport planning, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver within deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of UK transport policies, guidance, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, such as AutoCAD, TRICS, Junctions, or VISSIM, is advantageous.
  • Chartered or working towards chartered status (e.g., CIHT, TPS, or similar).
  • Experience in leading and developing teams.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management.
