Our client is a leading organisation in Manufacturing, renowned for innovation and excellence in supply chain management. They are seeking an experienced Strategic Buyer to join their dynamic procurement team in Farnborough. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping procurement strategies and driving business success.

As a Strategic Buyer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective sourcing of goods and services. You will play a critical role in supplier negotiations, risk management, and driving efficiencies within the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities as a Strategic Buyer:

1. Develop and execute strategic procurement plans to align with business objectives.
2. Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance.
3. Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure the best terms and conditions.
4. Analyse market trends and supplier performance to drive continuous improvement.
5. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and optimise procurement processes.
6. Implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
7. Support cost-saving initiatives and drive efficiencies within the supply chain.

Skills & Experience Required as a Strategic Buyer:

1. Proven experience as a Strategic Buyer, Procurement Specialist, or similar role.
2. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
3. Ability to develop and execute procurement strategies.
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
5. Experience in contract negotiation and cost reduction initiatives.
6. Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
7. CIPS qualification of level 4 or above.
