Job description

Site Maintenance Operator - to perform planned site maintenance tasks and inspections on allocated sites/buildings across North Scotland. Frequent travel required around Inverness, Durris, Aberdeen, and surrounding areas (or further at times) of the Arqiva estate.


Location: Frequent travel required around North Scotland. Inverness, Durris, Aberdeen, and surrounding areas.


Total Package:

  1. Up to £27,000 base salary
  2. 5% pension contribution

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct maintenance and inspections for various sites, including technical and corporate spaces.
  2. Document maintenance and repairs with accurate information and photos.
  3. Ensure quality through inspections of third-party contractor sites.
  4. Offer initial support for urgent building and site repairs.
  5. Handle building fabric, grounds, fence, and gate repairs as needed.
  6. Provide expertise in basic plumbing, heating, and boilers.
  7. Statutory compliance tasks: Legionella, Fire, Asbestos.
  8. Flexibility in working hours and locations, including emergencies.
  9. Strong communication skills with various stakeholders.
  10. Exceptional customer support and query resolution.
  11. Warehouse coverage and equipment operation (MEWP, Forklift).
  12. Efficient time management within SLA.
  13. Expert fault-finding and technical leadership across systems.

Desired Skills:

  1. Clean driving licence - as driving to over 100 sites.
  2. Skilled in grounds maintenance and repairs.
  3. Proficient in using various tools and equipment safely.
  4. Successful history of managing inventory for efficient initial repairs.
  5. Practical expertise in maintenance tasks: plumbing, painting, carpentry, roofing, landscaping, and fencing.
  6. Strong knowledge of heating systems and boilers.
  7. Basic plumbing, drainage, and minor repairs.

Not essential:

  1. Licensed for forklift trucks and MEWPs operation.
  2. Trained for rooftop tasks.
  3. Locksmith expertise.
  4. Trailer towing ability.
