Investor Relations Associate Director/Director

The Role:

Senior Investor Relations/Client Service role supporting the Fund Management team on one of the market leading flagship core open-ended real estate funds ("the Fund"). The Fund has grown to a substantial size and is continuing to grow therefore an exciting opportunity to lead Investor Relations/Client Services for the Fund.

To co-ordinate and manage all servicing activities relating to external institutional real estate clients globally invested in the Fund in accordance with legal documentation, agreed procedures and service standards.

To support the Fund Management team in the management and servicing of external institutional clients.

To support the institutional global distribution team, in relation to global institutional prospects in order to secure new business to assist in meeting capital raising targets for the Fund.

To oversee and continually improve reporting which meets the needs of institutional clients.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a client service centre of excellence for institutional clients and prospects in the Fund and to continue the exemplary client service standards already established as the lead senior Investor Relations/Client Service contact.
  • To manage the servicing of current and prospective investors, with full responsibility for all investor relations reports and materials on the Fund and to improve the knowledge of investors in the Fund.
  • Sign off and preparation of all investor communications and other related materials including but not limited to the Investor Quarterly Report, Annual Report, INREV DDQs, INREV SDDS, RFP's, pitch books, consultant databases and client queries to ensure they are produced on time and to the appropriate high quality.
  • To attend investor, consultant and prospect meetings to support fund management and present to investors, prospects and consultants.
  • Manage the annual programme for fund Investor Days to ensure high, consistent and sustainable standards are achieved.
  • To oversee onboarding and divestment from the Fund and facilitation of secondary trades for the institutional clients invested in the Fund.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external contacts.
  • To ensure the needs of the clients are represented at all points throughout any future prospectus change process, led by product development, to ensure that the project runs smoothly and on time.
  • Oversee the management of the client/consultant side-letter process and ensure we remain in compliance with agreed terms.
  • Lead and oversee a team of two; effectively allocating resources to ensure service standards are maintained and client expectations are met or exceeded. Ensure that all direct reports maintain their competency throughout the year and conduct appraisals with direct reports on an annual basis.
  • To provide input into the creation of new products and assist with their marketing as required.
  • Keep up-to-date on Real Estate investment market and Real Estate equity products and developments.
  • Ensure existing and future service standards for M&G Real Estate institutional clients are shared with and understood by all required functional teams (Operations, Finance, Compliance, Business Development, Fund Management, M&G Design etc) to achieve required quality, accuracy, content, on time delivery etc.
  • Ensure all client legal, tax and documentation related issues and related client service procedures are appropriately documented.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Experience of a client servicing and/or sales, sales support role (or similar) within institutional fund management, preferably within the real estate sector.
  • Experience working with a diverse international investor base.
  • Experience of supervising and managing a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A solid and current understanding of trends in the Real Estate investment and occupational markets.
  • A thorough working knowledge of best in class business practices relating to institutional client servicing functions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the regulatory framework.
  • Ability to lead and influence.
  • Ability to articulate and present at a senior level to colleagues and clients.
  • Bachelor's Degree and appropriately recognised professional qualification such as IMC or CFA and/or demonstrable track record and experience.
  • Familiarity with investments and accounting concepts and an understanding of real estate strategies and property markets would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation and externally with clients.
  • Effective management of multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
