Our work enables critical insights into rare and inherited diseases. To support our mission, we are seeking an innovative and dedicated Bioinformatics Analyst to join our bioinformatics team.

Job Summary:

As a Bioinformatics Analyst, you will process and analyze Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, develop data pipelines, and contribute to software and application development. This role requires collaboration across teams, strong technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Process and manage Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analyses.
  2. Develop and optimize data processing pipelines for genomics and other laboratory testing assays.
  3. Create and maintain software applications, databases, and custom scripts for bioinformatics tasks.
  4. Maintain sample tracking logs and ensure timely delivery of results to customers.
  5. Support both internal and external data analysis projects and application development initiatives.
  6. Manage data archival, storage, and computing resources to ensure efficiency and accessibility.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify challenges and implement effective solutions.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related Life Sciences discipline.
  2. Demonstrable experience in bioinformatics within an industrial, academic, or government laboratory setting.
  3. Proven expertise in building and delivering NGS data analysis pipelines and software applications.
  4. Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python, SQL, and shell scripting.
  5. Experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, EC2, Lambda, Batch) is highly desirable.
  6. Familiarity with Illumina's BaseSpace and ICA (Illumina Connected Analytics) platforms is a plus.
  7. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
  8. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
  9. Experience in a clinical laboratory environment is preferred.
