About the Role:
Hays are seeking an experienced and qualified Interim Financial Controller to join our dedicated clients team at a well-respected charity organisation in the Plymouth area of Devon. This role is essential to maintain this charities financial health and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements during a transitional period.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all financial operations and manage the finance team
Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and trustees
Ensure compliance with charity financial regulations and standards
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process
Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures
Requirements:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role within a charity organisation
Strong knowledge of charity accounting principles and regulations
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid working environment
