Associate Civil Engineer

Hays are working in partnership with an established Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy who are hiring an Associate Civil Engineer to lead their team in Lisburn. Our client's ethos is rooted in a passion for structural engineering. They've built a reputation for innovative design solutions and lateral thinking. They have offices in Northern Ireland, London, and Dublin and house a team of dynamic, creative, and ambitious engineers and designers. Their multidisciplinary experience allows them to contribute positively during the early stages of the design process, ensuring an elegant and cost-effective solution.

Your new role

In this Associate Civil Engineering role, you'll play a crucial part in developing new businesses, managing client relationships, overseeing projects and technical proposals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team of engineers whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality output.
  • Oversee engineering reports and specifications and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Develop detailed designs using cutting-edge software and processes.
  • Ensuring projects comply with legal requirements and prioritise health, safety and environmental considerations.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate for the Associate Civil Engineering role must have the following:

  • CEng with a recognised professional institution with a minimum of 5 yrs post chartership.
  • Design experience in drainage, roads, SUDS, Flood Risk analysis.
  • Management experience is essential and must have experience heading up a small team.
  • Experience in AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Microdrainage/Flow.
  • Experience of working across numerous project sectors including industrial, public realm and active travel, commercial, education and residential.
