Job summary

An established industry player is seeking dedicated individuals for driving roles within its Customer Delivery Hubs. This position offers a unique opportunity to deliver and install a variety of products, ensuring exceptional customer service at every step. As part of a two-person delivery crew, you'll be responsible for safely transporting items and demonstrating their use. With full-time and part-time options available, this role provides flexibility while allowing you to be a key player in enhancing customer satisfaction. Qualifications

  4. Salary: Please note the expected starting rates for a Customer Delivery Hub, Driver Trainee will be £28,646 (Annual), Installer will be £32,149 (Annual) & Technician will be £34,353 (Annual).

Driver Trainee’s key Responsibilities:

  1. Complete the 12 month Customer Delivery Driver Trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer by meeting the relevant criteria.
  2. Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
  3. Assist in loading your vehicle with the daily deliveries while collaborating with the warehouse team.
  4. Show great respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handle unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
  5. Installing products efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrating how they work once installed.
  6. Keeping up to date with new products and technologies to perform your role at your best.
  7. Maintaining a safe working environment.

Essential skills/experience you'll need as a CDH Driver Trainee:

  1. UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6-points.
  2. Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and face to face.
  3. Good understanding of technology and an interest in installation.

Desirable skills/experience you can bring to the Driver Trainee role:

  1. Previous experience of installation and customer delivery driving.

Driver Installer’s key Responsibilities:

  1. Start at the delivery hub where you are based before heading out on route.
  2. Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
  3. Load up your lorry with the day's deliveries working alongside the warehouse team.
  4. Show great respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handle unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
  5. Installing products efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrating how they work once installed.
  6. Keeping up to date with new products and technologies to ensure you perform your role at your best.
  7. Maintaining a safe working environment.

Essential skills/experience you'll need as a CDH Driver Installer:

  1. Manual C1 UK driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points).
  2. DCPC (Drivers Qualification Card) by the first day in role and Tachograph Card.
  3. Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
  4. Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
  5. Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and face-to-face.
  6. Good understanding of technology.

Desirable skills/experience you can bring to the Installer role:

  1. Installation and disconnection of white goods.
  2. TV installation.
  3. Assembly of a flat pack.

Driver Technician's key Responsibilities:

  1. Start at the delivery hub where you are based before heading out on route.
  2. Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
  3. Coach, develop and assess your delivery driver colleagues and give them the knowledge they need to perform at their best and represent our brand.
  4. Load up your lorry with the day's deliveries working alongside the warehouse team.
  5. Show great respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handle unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
  6. Installing a variety of products (including wall-mount TVs, integrated appliances, hard-wired appliance installations) efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrate how they work once installed.
  7. Keeping up to date with new products and technologies to ensure you perform your role at your best.
  8. Maintaining a safe working environment.

Essential skills/experience you'll need as CDH Driver Technician:

  1. Manual C1 UK driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points).
  2. DCPC (Drivers Qualification Card) and Tachograph Card.
  3. Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
  4. Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
  5. Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and face-to-face.
  6. Good understanding of technology.

Desirable skills/experience you can bring to the Technician role:

  1. Experience in-home delivery and installation of electrical and furniture products.
  2. Experience with electrical installations, (including integrated appliances) and wall-mount TVs.
  3. Installation and disconnection of white goods.
  4. TV installation.
  5. Able to evidence the skills, knowledge and ability to complete the replacement of domestic light fittings, accessories and cooking appliances.
  6. Assembly of flat pack.

As one of our Installation Specialists based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you'll have the unique opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service right to our customers' doors and install the products they love into their homes (such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets) as part of a two-person delivery crew.
