GSL Education has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Teaching Assistant (Secondary) to join a well-respected sixth-form college in Middlesbrough. This role is perfect for graduates looking to gain valuable classroom experience and support secondary students in their academic journey.

About the Role:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant (Secondary), you’ll be key in helping students achieve their academic goals. You’ll work closely with teachers and the pastoral team, offering support to students both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with lesson planning and delivery across a variety of subjects.
• Provide one-to-one or small group support, catering to students’ individual learning needs.
• Help students prepare for exams, coursework, and future pathways like university or employment.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Encourage independence and build student confidence in their abilities.

What We’re Looking For:

• A university degree in any subject.
• A passion for working in education and supporting students.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards helping students succeed.
• An updated CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).
