Ensuring the delivery of quality drinks, food and service is of course the bedrock of this role, but you will also be someone who enjoys identifying rising stars within your team, capitalising on all business opportunities and ensuring that every customer leaves with a smile on their face.

This is a high-volume operation with exceptional standards and a great reputation – we offer full table service in our pub restaurant, we have a large beer garden with kids play area, heated dog-friendly outside dining huts and a bookable outside tented space and pizza shack for functions. Great organisational skills, exceptional communication skills and a keen eye for detail is essential to be successful in the role.

As a General Manager with Barons Pubs, you will control costs, manage budgets and drive sales, whilst supporting, training and developing your team. We are looking for a strong, supportive leader with excellent influencing skills; someone with an approachable manner and a ‘lead by example’ management style.

Our overall business aim is to achieve Operational Excellence. You will have a keen business aptitude and the ability to successfully achieve set KPIs and GPs, by running the pub professionally, profitably, compliantly and efficiently. You will be responsible for cost control, driving sales and meeting budget targets. Establishing great lines of communication with your Assistant Managers, Head Chef and Sous Chefs will ensure there is a team approach to The Jovial Sailor’s continued success.

Being mindful of Being the Best you can Be, will drive your decision making and management of your team; always striving to bring out the best in people and choosing to have a positive attitude with every undertaking will ensure your success.

Training and mentoring on all things Barons will be given by the Directors, your Area Manager and the Influence and Support team.
