Job Description:

RSK Biocensus is structured to deliver work on the smallest sites to the largest infrastructure projects. Survey specialists, technical experts, and project managers are supported by our Central Services and GIS Teams, ensuring we can respond rapidly to any project challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Delivering small and medium tenders, and working with other RSK Biocensus staff and RSK departments on larger opportunities to create winning proposals.
  2. Managing small/medium-sized projects, including finance, resource allocation, managing sub-contractors, risk and quality assurance, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication, and seeking and responding to client feedback.
  3. Supporting or leading ecological fieldwork, including out-of-hours surveys, travelling as required and working away from home.
  4. Supporting or overseeing more complex aspects of site work, and designing and undertaking practical elements of habitat management or creation.
  5. Complying with appropriate biosecurity protocols, and demonstrating good practice.
  6. Collating and interpreting material for studies or research with support where required.
  7. Supporting or leading on producing survey and research reports, to include document reviews, statistical analyses, licence applications, PEAs, straightforward EcIAs, HRAs and related documents.

Person Specification

  1. Personal bat licence is essential (L1 minimum for consultant and L2 minimum for senior in England or equivalent).
  2. Registration as BMCL or ER consultant desirable (applicable to England).
  3. Able to demonstrate a good understanding of bat-relevant legislation, preferably in all parts of the UK.
  4. Full UK Driving Licence.
  5. Species specific personal licences are desirable.
  6. Full/Associate membership with CIEEM.
