Job Description

  • Weekly teaching, full school day - 8.45am-3.30/4.30pm, term time
  • Permanent placement in a Sing Education primary school/s
  • Teaching from 1 to 5 days per week
  • Singing-led curricular whole-class music lessons - Nursery to Year 6 following Sing Education teaching resources
  • Choirs, lunchtime and after school clubs
Requirements

Qualifications:

University graduate with a degree in music or a related field

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong vocal skills with the confidence to lead lessons and assemblies
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Capability to conduct whole-class music lessons
  • Basic keyboard proficiency for classroom use
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum for music
  • Proficient with ICT and able to use online systems such as G Suite

Experience:

  • Experience in classroom teaching or one-on-one instruction
  • Previous work with children or young people in a teaching or leadership role

Personal Attributes:

  • Passionate about inspiring a love for music in pupils
  • Strong classroom management and disciplinary skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both Sing Education and school teams
  • Maintains appropriate confidentiality

Compensation:

  • Full-time Salary PA: £24,867 - £32,542 (for 5 days per week), based on a 5-point progressive pay scale.
  • Staff progress up the pay scale with each 12 months of service following a successful managerial supervision meeting. Initial pay is dependent on classroom music experience and weekly hours + pension.
  • 7 - 40 hours per week - 38 weeks per year + paid training.
