Job description

Cyber and Digital Risk Graduate Programme

Programme Overview

We support our clients to understand and manage their cyber security risk, secure their data and systems, detect and manage their threats and vulnerabilities, and embed operational resilience. As part of the Technology Consulting team, we help organisations tackle their many security and resilience challenges, support risk-based decision making and improve data security and cyber defences. We also support clients with reducing costs related to managing security risks, improving their overall cyber security posture, and recovering from cyber incidents.

What you will be doing

  • Working in UK & Ireland (UK&I) or Financial Services (FS) in at least one of our service areas including Cyber Strategy and Transformation, Resilience, Third Party Risk Management, Data Protection & Privacy and more.
  • Developing your people and consulting skills.
  • Working with our clients on challenging projects.
  • Working with leaders in Cyber security across all domains of security and resilience, contributing towards innovation-driven service delivery for our clients.
  • Working towards industry-standard qualifications.
  • Working across a portfolio of clients assigned to you. This will involve a mixture of hybrid working – travelling to client offices, working in the EY office and occasionally from home. It will vary by client/project and will depend on the requirements of both the client and project team.

Eligibility for applying

We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need to be working towards an honours degree in any subject, have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, or in your home language if you do not hold English Language GCSE, and three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.

In addition, we’re keen to meet people who have a strong interest in Cyber or Information Security. You do not have to have a computing degree to work in Cyber security: threats exist in every field, profession, and industry.

  • If you have experience in coding, system development, deployment of Cloud infrastructure and can demonstrate extracurricular expertise.
  • If you have an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification, or have completed an industrial placement in a topic like Cyber Security or Information Security, or a STEM degree which contains a topic relating to Cyber, Resilience (Disaster Management) or Information Security by the time the programme starts, this is for you (Maths, Physics etc).

Eligibility for visa sponsorship

Please see visa sponsorship details below for this programme, for locations: Bristol and London.

Visa sponsorship is available for this position on a limited basis. EY’s ability to make an offer of employment is subject to the UK immigration rules in force at the relevant time. This position is one that meets the current thresholds required for sponsorship by EY. Please note, however, that EY has a set number of Certificate of Sponsorship applications that can be made each year. If you require sponsorship and this limit is reached and/or UK immigration rules are not capable of being met, this will prevent EY from being able to sponsor you and we will not be able to progress your application.

We can sponsor using the Skilled Worker visa New Entrant salary threshold for this particular vacancy. Your eligibility for the New Entrant rate must subsist for the entire duration of the Graduate programme (please refer to the section ‘Programme length’).

The criteria to be eligible for the New Entrant rate are (subject to change by the UK Government):

  • You’re under 26 on the date you apply.
  • You’re currently in the UK on a student visa studying at bachelor’s degree level or above.
  • You’re currently in the UK on a Graduate visa and your total stay in the UK by the end of your EY Graduate programme plus the date you applied for your Graduate visa will be less than 4 years.

Each visa application is unique to the individual and there may be other criteria which mean you are not eligible for visa sponsorship. EY will assess your individual circumstances and we may be required to withdraw your application or offer of employment if EY cannot sponsor your visa.
