Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant

GSL Education are actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant for an immediate start at a school in Emsworth. We are looking for individuals who are committed to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. If you are passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and have experience in behaviour management and tailored classroom support, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant you will provide one-to-one support to a specific student with learning needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, Special Education Coordinators, and other professionals to support the student effectively.
  • Foster a positive and supportive relationship with the student to promote their well-being and engagement.
  • Monitor and track the student's progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents as needed.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a holistic support system.
Requirements for the Learning Support Assistant Role:
  • Willingness and openness to working with students in a one-on-one setting and in small groups who have learning difficulties.
  • The capability to arrange educational activities based on student proficiency with assistance from a teacher.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Development of social skills and assistance with individual needs.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Providing counselling and academic help.
  • Though not a prerequisite, experience working with young individuals with special needs is preferred.
To work with GSL Education as a Learning Support Assistant, you should:
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
