The ideal candidate for this role is someone who thrives on conversations. You'll spend a significant amount of time interviewing clients to extract compelling insights that can be transformed into engaging content for their target audience. Your ability to build rapport, ask thought-provoking questions, and uncover unique perspectives is crucial.

You might come from a background in podcasting, journalism, consulting, or any role that required you to gather insights from individuals and be deeply curious about people’s lives and stories. However, this curiosity needs to be paired with an understanding of what makes content perform well on LinkedIn and other social channels we may expand to in the future.

In addition to being a strong interviewer, you need to be an effective leader. Managing multiple content strategies across various clients requires an ability to mobilize a team of creatives—including copywriters, designers, and video editors—to deliver outstanding results. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring you to understand the core skills necessary for exceptional content creation: sharp copywriting, strong visual design, compelling video editing, and outstanding client service.

Job Overview

We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Content Director to lead our content team and oversee the execution of client content strategies.

This role requires a deep understanding of LinkedIn content marketing, leadership in managing a creative team, and the ability to develop and implement content strategies that drive engagement and business growth.

You need to be a great conversationalist, someone who is happy to speak to clients regularly to uncover their unique insights, which we will then turn into engaging content.

You should already be active on LinkedIn so that you can speak with authority about the strategies that we are implementing for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and Oversee Content Strategies: Create and refine content strategies for clients that align with their brand, positioning, and audience. Ensure content plans are optimized for engagement and conversions.
  2. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of copywriters, designers, and video editors to ensure high-quality content production.
  3. Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to capture their unique insights, build deep relationships, understand their goals, refine their messaging, and develop content frameworks that align with their objectives.
  4. Quality Control & Editorial Oversight: Ensure all content meets high editorial standards, aligns with brand voice, and follows best practices for LinkedIn content marketing.
  5. Workflow & Process Optimization: Implement efficient content production workflows, streamline approvals, and optimize content repurposing strategies.
  6. Performance Tracking & Strategy Adjustment: Monitor content performance metrics, analyze engagement trends, and iterate strategies for continuous improvement.
  7. Innovation & Industry Trends: Stay up to date with LinkedIn content marketing trends, AI advancements, and LinkedIn algorithm changes to enhance content effectiveness.

Qualifications

  1. 5+ years of experience in content strategy, copywriting, or editorial roles, with a strong focus on B2B marketing.
  2. Proven track record of managing content teams and delivering high-performing content strategies.
  3. Deep understanding of LinkedIn as a content platform, including algorithm insights, engagement tactics, and thought leadership best practices.
  4. Strong writing and editing skills with an ability to craft compelling narratives.
  5. Experience working with creative teams, including designers and video editors, to produce engaging multimedia content.
  6. Data-driven mindset with experience analyzing content performance and optimizing strategies accordingly.
  7. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Excellent communication and client management skills.
